The NBS Community Impact Award recognises a programme, project, campaign or an overall business that has had, or continues to have, a positive impact on the Nelson Tasman community in a way that inspires others and makes a difference. This category is open to applicants from all organisations, including non-profit, charities and educational programmes.

"The Food Factory is so proud of the positive impact we have. We provide a safe, collaborative environment for food businesses entrepreneurs to get started in the food industry as well as being a venue for cooking classes, Youth Enterprise Scheme small business groups plus providing commercial kitchen access for charities making meals for the community and people making food items for fundraising initiatives. To have our mahi recognised by winning the Community Impact Award is wonderful. Founded by Pic from Pic’s Peanut Butter, it is his vision and passion that made this facility possible, and we are so lucky to have this right here in Nelson”.

"We entered in the Community Impact Award category because we wanted to show the multitude of different ways businesses like ours can make a positive difference in our communities. Whilst we often look to the Government and charities to do the hard work in the community, the business community is often overlooked as a way we can make true lasting impact across many levels. The awards process, including the application and the judging process provided an opportunity for us to reflect and better understand our business operations and the ways we work within the community. We were thrilled to receive the recognition and it has compelled us to keep doing good work.”
